Daddy, I'm Broken

November 19th daily blog devotional by Keith Wayne Edwards

Read:

Psalms 34:18

The LORD is near to the brokenhearted And saves those who are crushed in spirit.

I'll always remember that day my daughter who was eleven at the time had a bike accident and cut her chin wide open. You should have seen her. She had blood running down her neck. She said that right when it happened she had hit the concrete so hard that she felt something broken. She immediately prayed and spoke out the word Jesus as good as she could and she felt something pop very loudly. She feels like God healed her right then of something being broken. I immediately got some towels and applied pressure on it as I prayed for her. I then took her to the emergency room and the doctor who stitched her up was the very same doctor that stitched my hand up a few years back when I was a meat market manager at Kroger. I told him, "yea, I was a meat cutter you stitched up!" He said, Go get me some towels and help me. When he opened up the womb you could see bone it was soo deep. My poor little girl. We got 7 stitches in her and she is doing well now. I want to give you a revelation though that came from my little girl and I know it will help us. Right when my little girl walked in the door from the accident she cried hysterically the words "Daddy, I'm broken!!! My heart about popped right out of my chest. On the way back from the hospital I felt like God was trying to show me that we can look up to Daddy God and speak the words, "Daddy, I'm broken! and he will feel even more pain and sympathy for us than I did for my precious little girl. If he can send down His own Son to die for us then that is far more love and care than we can even have for the ones we love. Many of you are very broken from trauma or other things such as hurts etc. God wants you to look up to Him with "honesty" and say the words "Daddy, I'm broken!" and His heart will pop out of His chest for you. He does love us. After all, we are His children.
